About
Brenna Mereness, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in early childhood development and the parent-child relationship. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bay Path University and completed a two-year fellowship at the Infant Parent Training Institute (IPTI) through JF&CS, where she deepened her expertise in early attachment and infant mental health.
Brenna began her professional journey as an Infant, Toddler, and Preschool teacher, working for nearly eight years before transitioning to Early Intervention as a Mental Health Clinician. Over the course of six years, she provided developmental assessments, in-home therapy, and behavioral consultation to support children from birth to age three and their families. Her work also included facilitating toddler groups and parent support groups for families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Brenna later joined Shared Living Collaborative, where she worked with children in intensive foster care using a holistic, child-centered approach to promote healing from trauma and neglect. Her specialization in early attachments and the parent-child dyad guides her understanding of how early experiences shape the way children and adults engage with the world.
With a gentle, relationship-focused style, Brenna supports families in strengthening connections, fostering emotional security, and nurturing resilience from the very beginning of life.
