Clinical Supervision for Therapists
Kimberly Mossman, LICSW, Ed.S., is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and two-time recipient of the Supervisor Award from the New England Association for Play Therapy (2023 and 2025). She currently serves on the Board of the New England Association for Play Therapy in an ongoing leadership role supporting the growth and advancement of play therapy across the region.
Kimberly’s goal is to support professionals pursuing the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential, a process that can feel overwhelming given the detailed requirements, documentation, and supervision hours involved. Her focus is on helping supervisees feel confident that when they submit their RPT application, it will be strong, complete, and ready for approval.
Her supervision is grounded in the Developmental Model of Supervision, meeting each supervisee where they are in their professional growth, whether new to play therapy or refining advanced skills. Kimberly’s theoretical lens integrates Child-Centered Play Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy, helping supervisees conceptualize cases through regulation, connection, and authenticity.
Supervision sessions are typically held every other week, though scheduling is flexible (weekly, monthly, or as needed) to match your pace and learning style. Sessions may take place in person or online through a HIPAA-compliant platform. The rate for supervision is $100 per session.
In addition to ongoing supervision, Kimberly offers case consultations for clinicians who already have a primary supervisor but want guidance on complex cases or integrating play therapy principles.
Becoming a Registered Play Therapist is more than a credential. It’s a transformation in how you understand and communicate with children through play. Kimberly provides the structure, encouragement, and clinical depth needed to navigate the journey with confidence and clarity.
