Brenna Mereness is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with young children and their families. She received her Master’s degree from Bay Path University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a two year fellow of the Infant Parent Training Institute at the JF&CS. Brenna began her career working with children as an Infant, Toddler and Preschool teacher for nearly eight years before moving into Early Intervention as a Mental Health Clinician for nearly six years.
Brenna has provided developmental testing, in-home therapy, as well as behavioral consults with daycare and preschool classrooms for children birth to three years of age. Brenna has also run toddler groups and parent support groups for children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Brenna has spent time working at Shared Living Collaborative working with children in intensive foster care using a holistic child centered approach to help children heal from trauma and neglect. As an IPTI fellow Brenna specializes in early attachments and the parent child dyad. Brenna believes that by understanding early attachment patterns and experiences it can help inform us of the way in which children and adults experience the world.
